Some projects are bigger than one trade. When a job touches framing, electrical, plumbing, roofing and finish work all at once, you need one company accountable for the whole thing — not five separate crews pointing at each other when the schedule slips.
That's the role K & L Construction Solutions plays. We're a family-owned general contractor serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, with more than 20 years of hands-on construction experience and crews working across 24 cities. We plan the project, pull the permits, coordinate every trade, manage the schedule, and hand you a finished space that passes inspection and holds up in Texas weather.
One contract. One point of contact. One company standing behind the result.
A lot of homeowners hire a "contractor" and end up managing the job themselves without realizing it. Understanding the difference saves you months.
A specialty contractor does one thing — installs your roof, runs your wiring, sets your tile. A general contractor is responsible for the entire project from start to finish. That means:
Without a general contractor, all of that lands on you. You become the one calling the plumber to explain why the electrician can't start yet.
Most general contractors in DFW subcontract nearly everything. We don't. Our team includes experienced roofers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters and masonry contractors, which changes how a project actually runs.
When trades are in-house, the schedule tightens. There's no waiting two weeks for a sub to free up. There's no finger-pointing when rough-in doesn't line up with framing. And there's one standard of workmanship across the entire job instead of five different ones.
It also means we catch problems early. A roofer who spots a ventilation issue while the attic is open can flag it before drywall goes back up — not six months later when you're calling about a moisture stain.
We take on residential and light commercial work throughout the metroplex, including:
Home additions and expansions Room additions, garage conversions, second-story builds and enclosed patios. Structural work, foundation tie-ins, HVAC extension, electrical and finish — managed as one project.
Whole-home renovations Full-scope remodels where multiple rooms, systems and layouts change at once.
Structural and layout changes Removing load-bearing walls, opening up floor plans, reframing and header work — engineered and permitted properly.
Storm and insurance restoration We perform full inspections and work directly with major carriers including State Farm, Allstate, Farmers and Liberty Mutual to document damage and restore the property correctly.
Roofing and exterior systems Full roof replacements, decking repair, flashing, attic ventilation, siding, gutters and paint.
Kitchen and bath builds within larger projects When a remodel is part of a bigger scope, cabinetry, tile, plumbing and electrical get sequenced into the master schedule.
Light commercial and industrial finish-out Warehouse and shop floors, tenant improvements and durable coatings.
Outdoor structures Covered patios, pergolas, outdoor kitchens and hardscape.
Here's something most homeowners don't know: Texas does not issue a state license for residential general contractors. There is no state GC license to look up. Individual trades are regulated — electricians and plumbers are licensed at the state level — but anyone in Texas can call themselves a general contractor.
That puts the burden of verification on you. Before you sign anything, ask any contractor for:
We're happy to provide all of the above before you commit to anything. If a contractor hesitates on any of these, that's your answer.
Hail, high wind, extreme heat, expansive clay soil and sudden freezes all shape how a project should be built here. We plan for it.
That means impact-resistant roofing systems where they make sense, proper attic ventilation to manage summer heat load, moisture-resistant materials in the right places, and foundation and drainage considerations addressed before finish work starts. Building to code is the floor, not the goal — we build for what actually happens to homes in North Texas.
We work across 24 cities in DFW and the surrounding counties.
Tarrant County — Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield, Crowley, Grand Prairie, Azle Johnson County — Burleson, Joshua, Cleburne, Alvarado Parker County — Weatherford, Aledo, Willow Park Dallas County — Dallas, Irving, Grand Prairie, Duncanville Wise County — Decatur, Bridgeport, Boyd
Working the whole metroplex means knowing that permitting in Fort Worth doesn't run like permitting in Arlington, that soil conditions shift meaningfully between Parker and Dallas counties, and that a 1960s ranch in one suburb needs a different approach than a 2015 build in another. Twenty years across these markets is why we can quote accurately instead of padding for the unknown.
If you've got a project that touches more than one trade — an addition, a whole-home renovation, storm restoration or a structural change — we'd like to walk it with you.
